Since our Easter in Vegas was a bit lacking, we decided to hold a belated celebration on our first morning in Palm Springs.
We hid eggs around the backyard and set the kids loose.
We spent our first day exploring the downtown area, which was charming and eclectic and funky and the best kind of kooky.
We dedicated another afternoon to Palm Desert.
Super swanky, great shopping -- a dangerous combo.
And then there was Marilyn.
Oh, sweet Marilyn.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Palm Springs Art Museum.
Huge plates, glass houses, creepy mannequins -- what's not to love?
We capped off our trip with a jaunt around the weekly open-air market.
It was H.O.T. in more ways than one.
Exploring a new place while crashing in a dream house and playing board games into all hours of the night with some of our best friends?
I'd say it was a very successful trip.
