Peace out, 2012...

We partied hard on New Year's Eve with Redd and Dianna.

Our kids decided midnight was overrated and crashed at 8 p.m.

Party poopers.

 

I won't divulge too many crazy details, but I will throw out the words Trivial Pursuit, DDP and Mormon champagne.

We Ivins know how to throw a rager.

2012 was good to us.

Reece wrapped up his first year of grad school, interned and ultimately accepted a job at Microsoft, kayaked around the San Juan Islands, found the perfect pair of socks (his words, not mine) at the J Crew outlet and turned 29.

I spent the summer exploring Seattle with my babies, enjoyed the perfect weekend in paradise with some of my best college friends, went back to a regular work schedule in the newsroom, fulfilled my dream of sailing and discovered the world's best donut.

Lola turned 3 (what?!), got her first henna tattoo, said goodbye to diapers (yay!), started preschool and experienced Disneyland for the first time.

James turned 1 (again, what?!?), learned how to walk, started talking, rode a pony for the first time and perfected his "tank too."

We're happy, we're healthy and we're feeling very lucky to have each other.

So farewell to 2012 (a full month late) and welcome 2013 (also a full month late).
