Ready (or Not)...

Before Lola was born, we discussed getting professional newborn photos taken once she made her grand entrance.

After she arrived, I begun diligently researching photographers who specialize in immortalizing that fleeting newborn goodness.

Then the hospital bills started to roll in.

So instead of paying someone else to make our already gorgeous daughter look even more gorgeous, we packed up the camera and headed to Grandma Cyndi's world famous garden.

It started out nice enough. Lola kicked things off with her "pursed lips among the pumpkins" pose...

Next, she gave us her best "Splash Mountain" expression...

Unfortunately the "Splash Mountain" fun face turned into the "Why am I laying on the concrete outside?" scream...

We quickly moved on to our next set. Lola pulled out her flirting skills when she looked up and saw the grass hanging above her...

Flirtation quickly turned to hunger...

And hunger led to terror...

Naturally, we moved from the terrifying grass to the flowers.

Things were going well until Lola decided she wanted to eat the flowers.

Bush Baby...

Bush Baby attempting to eat the bushes...

The photo shoot came to an abrupt end once we noticed the horrible rash that began to spread across our model's little body. That's what you get for trying to munch on shrubbery.

We may have to leave this to the professionals.

Aww, maybe you can have another go at a photo shoot before you pay someone to do it. It's not like your photos aren't good - they're actually quite lovely. Lola just needs to be in the right spirits for the shoot. And who's to say that a professional can get your daughter to model better than her own mother could?

She is already changing so much! Yet she still is so pretty!

Ha! What a hilarious post! I laughed out loud reading your commentary to the pictures! ... just take Little Lola to Sears. You can get a couple of 8x10s for, like, 30 bucks. I even have a coupon!
