We woke up Sunday morning to dark skies, crazy wind and reports that New York City would be effectively shutting down by the end of the day.
Sandy was real, and she was nasty.
As we scrambled to make arrangements (flight was cancelled, no surprise there), we sought refuge in St. Patrick's Cathedral.
And then found higher ground in Central Park.
It was always nice to see optimism, especially in the form of a waffle cart.
We made it to Penn Station right about the same time the wind started to pick up and caught one of the last trains to Jersey before transit shut down completely.
Reece's aunt Michelle generously us in, and we weathered the storm in her beautiful home in Morristown.
