Flower run...

We had a lovely visit from our cousin Elly last weekend.

She stayed with us while her family chilled at a lacrosse tournament in Bellevue.

The first thing Lola wanted to show Ellie was the monorail (of course).

Aside from the space noodle, the monorail is the most prominent subject in Lola's conversational repertoire.

Our destination: the market.

As Lola explained to Elly, "Our flowers are dead and we need flowers to be alive."

So we set out in search of some living flowers.

We take our weekly flower tradition very seriously.

I got a serious kick out of the way Lola took charge of our outing.

She kept a firm lead on all of us -- directing our little party throughout the streets of Seattle.

She's a city girl, that one.

I must be doing something right.
