Santa baby...

It's that time of year again.
The only time of year parents willingly wait in long lines to place their young children on some bearded, creepy old guy's lap.
Man, we have weird traditions.

Nevertheless, the anticipation of meeting Santa had Lola yelling "HO HO HO HO HO" for a good 20 minutes as we waited for the big man himself to return from feeding his reindeer (though I swear we saw him at Chick-fil-A in the food court...).
I think she offended some of the scantily-clad teenage girls as they walked by.

Lola squealed with joy as she watched Lyla take her turn on Mr. Claus' knee.  But when her turn came, things took a turn for the worse.

Is it just me, or does Santa seem to be getting a kick out of my baby's terror?
Poor guy probably gets that a lot.
I'm afraid Lola might be getting coal this year.

The upside is, I don't think I'll have to worry about her getting into cars with strangers.

However traumatic this holiday tradition may be for the kids, it's endlessly entertaining for the mamas.
Thanks Cindy and Lyla for a fun mommy-daughter-Santa date.

You've gotta love the creepy old guys that play Santa. I also wonder where this tradition came from... and most kids hate it! It's a rite of passage that they have to go through - get a picture on santa's lap while screaming - check! But I think it was invented solely for the entertainment of the parents, really.

Also, I did make our blog public again.
