Crazy Hair...

I've been a bit of a slacker in the blogging department lately -- partly because I've been feeling uninspired, and partly because my kid has decided to rebel against any and all things related to sleep.

The daytime naps which I once cherished have now become sporadic at best.  Those 2-4 hour stretches of "mama time" have been reduced to 30 minutes here and there, devoted exclusively to shower taking, granola bar eating and the occasional book reading or house cleaning.

I'm not quite sure what sleep did to make Lola hate it so much, but I am sure that there is some pretty bad blood between the two of them.

One of her most recent shenanigans has been to wake up an hour or two after we put her down for the night.  Reece and I LIVE for those few hours we get to spend together at the end of the day, when we can pop in a movie, watch a favorite TV show or even just crash on the couch and laugh about how crazy (in a good way) our life has become.

But Lola doesn't like to be left out, nor does she like to miss out.  On ANYTHING.  And what Lola wants, Lola gets.  Really, the song says so.

And so, for the past week or so, we've had added a third member to our late-night crew.

Along with that third party comes the crazy hair.

I suppose we should just enjoy the fact that our daughter likes spending time with us.  In about 12 years, that probably won't be the case anymore.

Then I will be the one waking up at midnight, running into her room screaming until she lets me in.  I just hope she doesn't have her daddy's knack for sneaking out unnoticed.  Good thing I'm a light sleeper. 

All I know is, I hope sleep apologizes and begs for Lola's forgiveness soon.  Because I'm exhausted.
