As I was drugging my child with Tylenol to help ease the sting of the four shots she received yesterday, I noticed something on her gum that wasn't there yesterday.
Milk?
No.
Oatmeal?
Uh uh.
Cat fur?
Thank goodness not.
Check this out...
Left side, bottom gum.
A little closer...
That's right, my child has a tooth! Upon my discovery, I called nearly everyone in my phone to spread the news. It's funny how silly little things become life-changing once you become a mother.
Admittedly, I did not have the best dental hygiene as a child. I would turn on the sink so my mom would hear the water running, then scrub the counter with my toothbrush for dramatic effect.
Of course I painfully regretted that aversion once I got my braces off in 9th grade, only to reveal a slightly yellow smile.
I'm determined to get this kid to love all things dental. Instead of toys, she'll be asking for floss, mouthwash and cinnamon flavored toothpaste for birthdays and Christmas.

I love that last pic of Lola, she looks so cute! I can't wait to see her little tooth in real life, what a big milestone!
Teeth! Meg still has no teeth! She's my gummy wonder.
Your so lucky you are allowed to look in her mouth! I am not allowed to look in Makenzie's mouth. When I want a peek I have to do things very forcefully....
Oh Linds, I had to fight her tooth (ha) and nail to get these pictures. That is why there are only two.
yahoo teeth! and the party begins!
Jess! you brush that tooth like your life depended on it! I love that mothers get so excited about these things and my maternal extinct even kicks in and i get excited too! a tooth...it must be the whitest tooth anyone has ever seen! ha ha xoxo cait
