Reece and I have discussed getting some so-called "pregnancy pics" taken before Baby makes her way into the world.
There are several things, however, that have kept us from taking the leap.
1. We are cheap, and pregnancy portraits cost money.
2. I currently LOATHE any picture taken of me. It's not that I don't love the bump. I've embraced it, I really have. It's all the extra flab and flub that I'm not crazy about.
3. We have a lousy track record when it comes to posed photos. Ask me about the engagement photo nightmare of 2007. Or the wedding picture fiasco. We always get in trouble at the yearly family portrait because neither of us can keep a straight face.
So tonight we hiked into the foothills and took matters into our own hands.

and i agree. there's no flub there. just a big belly (which i imagine probably feels like a really big flub...but you've got a whole 'nother person in there!)

You guys are too cute together! I love these pics and am glad you went for the funny and goofy angle instead of the serious and creepy angle that most prego pics have. Seriously, nothing grosses me out quicker than seeing a guy rub his wife's belly with a satisfied and smug smile that says "yeah, I did this." It reminds me of the closing lines of Steinbeck's "Grapes of Wrath"..."and she smiled mysteriously..." ewwwww!!
I love the one with the puff balls. I may have to recreate that one when I have a baby bump.

Soooo corny. I love it. I made a deal with Brent that he wouldn't have to sit through pregnancy couple pics if he would diligently take weekly photos of my belly's progression. I figured we'd have enough pictures taken of us during random outings to suffice. But these mock pictures are hilarious! And you look beautiful no matter how hard you're trying to be cheesy.

I'm glad you all like the cheesiness! The pictures were taken in the foothills above the Avenues. We took them with our Cannon Digital SLR (I have no idea how else to describe the camera). Our good friends snapped the shots for us. So in otherwords, the cheesiness can be yours for no cost at all :) Just find a meadow, grab some friends and pack a camera.

Todd and I have the same photo problem-- except our problem isn't keeping a straight face-- it's that one or both of us looks severely annoyed. Oops!
