On any given evening... the scene at our apartment goes a little bit like this:
Jessica: "What should we make for dinner. I'm starving. I haven't eaten all day." (she says, as she scarfs down Hostess chocolate cupcakes and ice cream)
Reece: "I don't know. I'm not really hungry."
J: "Well what did you eat today."
R: "Hardly anything. A granola bar. And an apple."
J: "Really? That's it?"
R: "Well, I guess I had a couple of Twix bars too. And a donut. And there was free pizza at work. And a Baconater at Wendy's. With fries. And a Dr. Pepper. And another granola bar. I think that's all though."
J: "That's what I thought."
Or this:
J: "Babe, what can I make you for dinner?"
R: "I dunno. We don't have any food."
J: "Yes we do. Remember how we dropped $100 on groceries at Target last night?"
R: "WE SPENT HOW MUCH??????"
J: "How about scrambled eggs with bacon and toast? Or a turkey burger with sweet potato fries? Or pasta with chicken and pesto?"
R: "Ummmmm.... can you just make me a peanut butter and honey sandwich? With milk?"
I look at these dinnertime rituals as valuable practice for motherhood, as it seems I already have a little (big) boy.

Ah, men. Or boys. They're all the same.
Also, three cheers for sweet potato fries. Mmm....
Yes! Another Peanut Butter and Honey Sandwicher!
Props to you for even MAKING dinner.
And I love coming home from a long day of work, trying to find something to eat, and then eating... oreos. Or ice cream. Or those 100 cal pack Hostess cupcakes. My wind-down-from-work-treat of the moment is Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Nothing else will quite satisfy the fried brain. Any anything else takes too much effort.
Your so funny. But, I know there is no way you hadn't also eaten a piece of butter toast....
LOL! I've been reading your blog for a few wks and I just have to say that I think it's fabulous! Of all the blogs of all the people I knew-but-didn't-really-know from HS, yours is definitely my favorite! (I'm hoping my flattery will earn me penance for my blog-stalking.) ;)
